Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

Not long now..

It hit me hard this morning. I woke up with Dec early and as he left to go in to work I told him that I was going to walk Molly and then I would be in… See you in an hour!

That did not happen and in fact as soon as the front door closed I was finishing my coffee and then it hit me.. like a tonne of bricks.. an overwhelming urge to sleep! So I just lay down on a cushion just for five minutes….

Two hours later I was awoken by my phone ringing! I was half off the couch and half on the couch and I actually felt like I had a hangover! What’s going on?? Is this my version of the Keto Flu? Downed another coffee and made it to the office by 9.30am just in time to cook up a feed of bacon and eggs for Dec for Breakfast still feeling bleary eyed.

So.. FRIDAY! One of my favourite days of the week. The start of the weekend! And tonight I was heading in to the city with my Mum to see a stage show. Now normally we would head in early and find a cocktail bar in the city and partake in a few bevvies before the show. Not tonight though. And I have to say I actually wasn’t that bothered by it. My lovely Mum who supports me in anything and everything bought me a bottle of water and some sugar free mints! It was no Mojito but it was nice of her none the less. Only problem during the night was I had to go to the loo at least 3 times… All this water you know! What goes in must come out.

All in all we are both feeling a little on the lethargic side. Neither of us made it to the gym today despite all good intentions. We both needed a rest today. When we started the Keto Experiment we made a commitment to exercise each day to ensure we got the best out of the eight weeks.. but we also agreed to listen to our bodies and if our bodies told us to rest.. Then that is what we will do.

Dec is still having a hard time with food. Whilst he loves the food we are eating he is really missing the carbs. His cravings really hurting around the 4pm mark. The time of the day that he is usually thinking of finishing up work and heading home for a beer or three to relax at the end of the day.

I’m pleased to say we both made it through our first Friday night in a very very long time without Alcohol. Another milestone for us. And you know you should always celebrate the milestones..

Pass me the Sparkling water darling.. Cheers to that!
