It actually turns out that you can’t remove ALL temptation from the house!
Last Sunday prior to starting the Keto Experiment we cleaned out our pantry. To tell you the truth I started to feel a bit embarrassed standing in my kitchen with all the contents of my pantry out on the bench. There was so much when it was actually in front of me. What most of us would have in our cupboards as staples – Flour – Breadcrumbs – Sugar – Tins of Soup and cartons of Stock. Weetbix and Jam – Pasta and Rice…..Nutella!! All those things that the majority of us have in our cupboards. We just don’t really think of them as carbs…
And then there was all the “Natural Health food” that I had. Agave Nectar – Rice Malt Syrup – Maple Syrup – Sports drinks! Those Health Foods that are absolutely loaded with carbs.
Everything had to go! We had to start The Keto Experiment with a whole foods clean way of eating.. So out it all went!
The cupboards were bare and we were ready…
But not all temptation can be avoided…. Watching the news tonight a segment came on about a SPUD Festival… YES!! A SPUD FESTIVAL!! Could it get any worse… Declan already thinks his throat has been cut! He actually rewound the segment so he could watch it again and drool over the potatoes. Poor Dec… You know the saying “It’s like taking Candy from a Baby” Well the Irish version is “ It’s like taking Potatoes from an Irish Man”…. At one stage he paused the TV as a young child was eating a Spiral Spud on a stick….. I heard Dec yell… “ Look at her! She’s looking at me and taunting me with her Spiral Potato”…
On a positive note we are still clean Keto Eaters! We have not given in to any temptation at all so we are feeling pretty proud of ourselves. Sitting in at home on a Saturday night Ive cooked a nice dinner of Bacon Cheese Burger bake with a small side salad. We both really enjoyed it.
I asked Dec how he was feeling.. he tells me he is starting to feel much better and I can see that too… At Day 6 we are most likely starting to come down from this Keto Flu… at least that how it’s feels. Will keep up the fluids and keep our fingers crossed it won’t be too long before the cloudiness disappears

Went Meat Shopping today! I love to shop.
Was dehydrated this morning in the SPIN Class. Felt it and I feel that it affected my workout.
